Life - Co-creation!
Hello all,
Namaste! Hope all of you had a great weekend where you were able to co-create, what you wanted for your life. Last week we discussed how intentions lead to what we want for our life. But is it enough to have intentions? Okay, we have our intentions and we are already taking actions towards our intentions. But does every action we take bring us results or are there specific things we need to keep in mind. This is where the term co-creation comes into the picture. Now, what is co-creation?
According to Wikipedia, it is explained in management and economic terms as, "Co-creation is a management initiative, or form of economic strategy, that brings different parties together (for instance, a company and a group of customers), in order to jointly produce a mutually valued outcome. Co-creation brings a blend of ideas from direct customers or viewers (who are not the direct users of the product) which in turn creates new ideas for the organization".This is from a management or organizational perspective. Here we are not talking about that. We are talking from a philosophical or spiritual perspective.
So what is co-creation from a spiritual perspective? Before going into explaining that, let us all think about ourselves. Each of us has been born into this physical or earthly realm. Each one of us has some unique talents, interests, and passions. We have come here with either very developed talents or talents that are in the starting stages, which we have to polish and improve on it.
If we think that there is a Universal principle or divine present, (I like to think that a divine is present, as a higher power watching over our actions and guiding us feels awesome compared to a human race, somewhere in a faraway galaxy in a faraway solar system and a faraway planet feels, sterile, emotionless and foreboding.) then the divine is very much involved in giving us our talents, passions, and interests. So why are we given talents if we are not going to use it? Does that make any sense?
For example, a person for whom composing music flows from their pen, the minute they touch their pen to the paper, does it make sense for them to go into technology? Nowadays, unfortunately, that is what happens in the world. People without realizing the talents they have to go into the fields where they can find a quick job and start earning money. Of course, there are responsibilities they may have to take care of. Anyway, let us come back to the point we were discussing. Co-creation.
So by the virtue of the talents given to us, the divine is very much involved in the process of whatever we create. Let us go one more level higher. We ourselves are the creation of the divine. So by virtue of creating us and giving us talents that we are supposed to pursue, the divine is very much involved in our life. So this is a higher perspective from which we should view our life. Now let us come to our lower or earthly perspective. By taking the talents, passions, and interests we are given, we make something for ourselves first and for the greater community, society and world later. This is from our lower, physical perspective.
So here there is very much intention of the divine involved, as we are given talents according to the intention of the divine. If the divine doesn't want us to do something, we would not be given talents in that particular aspect. Because the divine intends us to do something we are given the talent in that particular aspect. Now by virtue of us having that talent, we find it very easy to pursue that particular subject, passion or interest. It comes naturally to us. So here our intention becomes pursuing our passions and making something out of it. Co-Creation! See a perfect marriage of our intentions with that of the divine, literally co-creating with the divine. See how everything works out perfectly.
But here also our free will and choice are very much involved. We can, not pursue our talents. We can pursue something we find interesting or feel that is what we are supposed to do. But in this case we may not have natural talents for it, the talents may not come easily and we may find it very difficult to go from an apprentice to a Master level. But above this, there can be a big obstruction involved as well.
When we are going after just what we think is correct for us, we are not fulfilling the intention of the divine. Here we become on our own on the pursuance of our passions. As the intention the divine had for us is not getting fulfilled the divine is not going to much help us in our shenanigans. Yes, these are the shenanigans or random rendezvous we are going on. Here many times the culprit is our mind. Our mind would say something, which we go behind. But the heart (of course not the literal beating heart, but the metaphorical passionate heart each one of us has) always tell us the truth or correct thing we are supposed to pursue.
As it is easier to explain concepts with an example and as my experience is the most known example I can elaborate on, let me use my experience as the example for co-creation. Also as I have lived two very different career lives through my stay in this Earth, that also becomes easier for comparison. One just my own creation and the other co-creation.
Biotechnology- My own creation: As by now all of you know, I pursued Biotechnology for around 20 years of my life, in my previous avatar. I used to love Biology and everything related to it. I was hooked to Biology in my tenth grade and always wanted to pursue Biotechnology. Even though Biotechnology came very easy to me, now when I look back it was my career, I loved it and did everything to pursue it. But it never had the enchantment and the imagination of going into a mythical story and reading about it and imagining how Pandavas and Kauravas would have fought or how the Goddess Saraswathi came behind the Guru Shankaracharya to the place where he wanted her to come and be at a temple. When I used to read those stories and literally used to get totally enraptured by them.
Even though I know about how Penicillin was discovered, I never imagined that how the fungi were chomping on the bacteria and decimating them. Here in Biotechnology, it was all from the mind, never from the realm of imagination. So when the realm of imagination or ideas is not involved, then the divine inspiration is not at work there. It is all from the mind. Even though the mind is a huge asset and can be like Chanakya, the mind can only do so much as when taken alone, as it is only working from the realm of the humans. A big part called the divine spark or inspiration is missing. So the output also is only so much.
Here I want to mention, there are fantastic scientists and biotechnologists, whose life purpose itself is to pursue Biotechnology. In their case, as they are inspired and passionate about Biotechnology, for them, every realm may be involved and they are co-creating along with divine. Here I am just saying about myself from a mental point of view. So as now I look back at my Biotech life, even though I was getting the degrees and later okay jobs, I always felt something was missing, but could not put a finger to it. Just knew something is not full, that something is being left out.
Also another feeling I used to have, in my later years when I go to the laboratory to do my work, it was as if there was some heavy burden kept on both shoulders. If I love something, shouldn't there by a spring in my step or should there be big boulders on my shoulders? These all were all the ways the Universal spirit trying to make me aware of how I was taking a decision with my mind, not with my heart. Now above this somehow or other even after three Master's degree I was only finding small laboratory assistant jobs. Not cool.
Now again when I look back I realize my heart or the inner core was not truly involved in the decision of myself becoming a Biotechnologist. The whole decision was from my mind. But the mind doesn't understand the higher realms and sometimes being totally logical/rational it shuts down the heart as a useless emotional wreck. But then many times the knowledge mind has is intellectual. But when the heart and mind work together, it becomes intellectual, emotional, spiritual, psychological and divine. So, see how many parts we are missing by just being rational and too logical. (To my blog readers, please don't think I am bragging. I thought as I have gone through two very different sets of experiences where one was purely from my mind and the other was from my heart as well as mind working together, they would be a good example to elaborate the difference. I like to be extremely authentic myself and bragging is a big NO in that realm.)
Blogging/Writing - Co-creation: Now to the second part of my life journey. As I was saying before, when the Biotechnology stint didn't work anymore I started my quiet contemplation/meditation/solitary walks. I kept on doing this to figure out what was doing wrong. Then I remember, one day on one of my nature walks a simple question gently popped into my thought. Very simple, short and gentle. "Did you ever think about the spiritual gifts you have been given?" That's it. Just a simple question.
I could have dismissed it as a random thought and left it then and there itself. It is always our free will and choice. But as I was so much into figuring out what is wrong with my career, I decided to investigate more. So next day onwards when I started walking I started thinking about that question. How does that question relate to my life? See the difference here? Before even starting with the very first step, I am going within, asking my intuition and inner voice, what is the meaning of that question. So that very second we have brought the divine into the picture. The divine which is sitting outside as Idols, pictures, scriptures, holy books and hymns are also sitting within us. So the second we ask the intuition a question, the divine is getting involved.
For the biotech decision, I didn't go for months on walks and decide on it. It was after my twelfth grade, I just decided I would take Biology. No search within, contemplation or meditation. Anyway coming back to the second act, after a lot of internal enquiry it dawned on me (The blockhead that I am, I have many planets in some occult houses in my chart. Even being a Vedic astrologer myself, I never cared to look at it critically.) that I do have some spiritual gifts. Now that again I could have left it then and there. Again free will and choice.
But then I decided to explore more. Again I kept on asking questions after questions. Now see the pattern here? It is not the mind that is guiding here, but the inner Self or the divine within. With an intellectual decision, we just go ahead and take it. But with a heart-centered decision, we are not sure, we are bogged down with self-doubts, questions and what is the right approach. So this becomes literally co-creation. Every step of the way the divine is involved.
Anyway finally, I decided on starting a Blog. I had no idea whether I could write, whether what I write makes sense or whether even one single person would read it. Again doubts, doubts, and doubts. Again going within and enquire. So then I got a question back, "How do you know without trying?"
Now another apprehension starts poking its head. Fear. Fear of going out of my comfort zone and putting myself and my writing out there on the social media for the world to see. See how at each step we are being brought face to face with our inner demons? In the Biotech, I could be comfortable in a corner of a lab not putting myself out there and can just go about my work.
Here it is first knowing who I am, what can be my purpose, then self-doubt, fear, going out of my comfort zone, trying out something which I have never done, showing my hidden side to the world. (The planets I mentioned before are in the hidden houses of the occult in my chart. I had kept it very much hidden as my hobbies, whether spirituality, metaphysics, Philosophy or Vedic Astrology.) So basically it is to make us aware who truly we are, what are our strengths, weaknesses, how to handle it and how to go about making ourselves as authentic as we can be.
So it is not just the career that is involved. It is even creating a new, authentic You, who can grow and improve, and become truly more of yourself each and every single day. Now while doing that for myself, I also get to share with the world, some of the talents I have, by virtue of which I am of help or guidance to a few souls. See how it works.
The divine has the intention of bringing these guidances/information to the masses. For that, a soul is created, which already has the interests, passion, and talents in the same area. So by virtue of creating me and giving me these talents, the divine is already involved in the process. Now by making me aware of the things I have to do, the divine again gets involved in the process. But I always have the free will choice to reject. Then the divine will find somebody else to do that job and I may have a less inspired remainder of my life.
But now as I decided to take up the challenge; yes, it is a challenge due to the Self-doubt, fear, coming out of the comfort zone and other issues that are involved; the divine becomes my partner in the process, guiding me every step of the way, with inspiration, ideas, and the inner motivation needed. Some of the blog posts, the divine has even shown me a picture, where my attention came to rest on a specific thing and I realized that is what I am supposed to write for that week. For example, for the post, 'The Lotus - What does it signify?', my eyes fell on the Lotus being held by the Hindu god called Guruvayooppan, and I got the intuition, that week I am supposed to write about the Lotus. For the post on Chanakya, three weeks back I had a dream in which Chanakya was shown as a picture to me. At that time, I had not decided on what post to write for the coming week.
Like this, when we co-create we become the vessel or medium through which the divine brings out its intention, which works perfectly by aligning the intentions, talents, and passions of the individual soul as well. A perfect marriage or Co-creation. But many times, we the individual soul becomes so rational and logical, we think that we are on our own, doing our own stuff, in a Universe, galaxy, star system, Earth and has absolutely no meaning for our life or for our existence. Like that we keep a smaller, egoistic mindset from our mind and think we create our own life.
Namaste! Hope all of you had a great weekend where you were able to co-create, what you wanted for your life. Last week we discussed how intentions lead to what we want for our life. That would give our life a grander scheme, greater perspective and a life with purpose. Only we need to have the willpower to put in the time, effort, energy, contemplation and perseverance to know who we truly are, what is our purpose and what is the meaning for our life.
Now should everyone take the time, effort and hard work to go within, contemplate and find the meaning for their life? Always one's own choice and free will!
