The truth shall set you free!

Hello all,

Namaste! Hope all of you had a great week where you were able to unlock the key to your greatest good as per your Dharma. Last few weeks, we were talking about the heavens and how in the esoteric terms it can be perceived as our own higher self and the related faculties. Now, the question becomes if we have been bestowed with such elegant faculties shouldn't there be an elegant purpose behind it? Today let us discuss that.

Why are we given such amazing faculties like a brilliant mind, a sharp intellect, amazing consciousness, a loving heart, a smart brain and a body that situates all these? There should be some solid reason behind this, isn't it? But do we humans any day think about this and explore why we are given such amazing details to live a life in this physical realm? That is the truth we are going to try to unwrap today.

Human Soul:
All of us come to this Earth to live our life. Do we come just like that and live our life as we want and go? Is that how we are supposed to pursue our life? But the majority of us live life like that and go. Isn't it sad that we never try to look and realize our own truth, that can set us free? What is this truth? Is it the Universal truth or Brahman that we read and write about or is it another version of it?

All of us have our Soul or our inner core. In Vedic Philosophy it is called 'Atman'. This Atman is considered a speck of the Universal truth called Brahman. When it comes to existing in a body it is called as Jeevatman (Jeevah-life, Atman-Soul) and in the same respect, the Universal truth is called Paramatman (Paramah-Universal, Atman-Soul). So, in this lifetime, it has come to exist in our specific current body.

But has it just come suddenly into our present body without any previous experiences or have we had a long rendezvous before this current one? If we had long rendezvous before this current life wouldn't we have had an abundance of experience and associated lessons with it? By accepting only this current lifetime aren't we negating all the previous experiences our soul or consciousness has collected?

These experiences have embedded as knowledge in our deep subconscious mind or in other words etched in our DNA in the scientific space. It is a known fact only very few genes get turned on in each human being that gives us our nature as voice, eye color, skin color, gait, our body, and structure. But there are other millions of DNA elements that never get expressed (or turned on). They remain dormant.

Wisdom, bubbles, water, Soul, mind, conscious, subconscious, intellect, Sun, light, knowledge, attitude, effort, analysis, deep, recess, Moon, ideas, thoughts, creativity, creation, Brahman, Universe, purpose, words, power, desires, intentions, resolutions, butterfly, stars, way, heart, follow, brilliance, boat, ocean, life, direction, map, radar, Survivin, cancer, protein, stress, chaos, peace, oak, acorn, wisdom, Anahata, heart, space, mind, clutter, peace, awareness, Maya, commitment, colors, creativity, mythology, myth, treasure chest, key, ancestors, DNA, Karma, terrorism, heaven

So, think of the amount of untapped knowledge each of us is carrying around. We may not even realize that we have it. This is the potential each of us is sitting on. We are amazing, powerful beings. But this amazing realization we can achieve only from a soul's perspective. For this, to realize this we need our brilliant mind, the sharp intellect, amazing consciousness, the loving heart, the smart brain and the body that lodges all of them.

Human being: Now, to the human being. The being or the body came into existence only in this particular life. So, if we look at our life from the body perspective we have only so much knowledge. For example, I have only knowledge of my school and college days. some forty-five years to be exact, that too in Biotechnology. There should be no way I could write a blog on Vedic Philosophy and spirituality. Of course, I have read and researched some topics on them. But never ever near as extensively as in a blog. It should be more on Science and Biotechnology. Paradoxical, isn't it?

We, humans, think of us as humans, the body but not as soul beings. Suddenly our knowledge shrinks to the size of a mustard seed. The remaining ninety-nine percent of the subconscious mind becomes worthless trinkets. But this is where the deep knowledge we have accumulated through our own trials and errors exist. We just shun it and think from our body perspective. Isn't it truly a shame?

Human as a body only knows so much, The other amazing treasure of the subconscious we can only access through our intuition. But in this rush through our material existence who has the time to really slow down, think, whether we are living our life authentically? Or is it that we are just living a very surface, stagnant life? The intuition many times sends us signals as inner pokes. But we just ignore and don't heed to it.

The truth: What is the truth? We are very powerful beings or souls who have collected enormous amounts of our knowledge from our own experiences. These are not the truths about the Universe or the other higher principles. But our own knowledge about ourselves. Small pieces of jewels we have collected in our long soul journeys. These jewels have been embedded as bits and pieces in our subconscious, waiting for us to unlock.

These are our personal truths or personal values. Half of the time we ourselves are not aware of it or we never bother to find it. We are happy to live in our ignorance about ourselves. The saying 'Ignorance is bliss' comes to mind. The minute we realize our total truth and by virtue of it our Dharma for this life, we have work to do. We cannot sit idle anymore. Then isn't being ignorant the much simpler and easier way?

Wisdom, bubbles, water, Soul, mind, conscious, subconscious, intellect, Sun, light, knowledge, attitude, effort, analysis, deep, recess, Moon, ideas, thoughts, creativity, creation, Brahman, Universe, purpose, words, power, desires, intentions, resolutions, butterfly, stars, way, heart, follow, brilliance, boat, ocean, life, direction, map, radar, Survivin, cancer, protein, stress, chaos, peace, oak, acorn, wisdom, Anahata, heart, space, mind, clutter, peace, awareness, Maya, commitment, colors, creativity, mythology, myth, treasure chest, key, ancestors, DNA, Karma, terrorism, heaven
Truth or in other words Dharma!

Maybe. But then for that easier and ignorant living, we are putting our signature on the dotted line to bring another lifetime in which the exact same experiences of this life would repeat. Welcome to the repeated cycles of the same lessons. For an easier current life, we are begging for another lifetime. Funny!

Now, what is this truth? Or personal truth? Vedic philosophy has a specific name for it - Dharma. What is Dharma? Let me bring in Upanishads. As Wikipedia has nicely put an interpretation from Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, I am quoting it here. Later I would try to elaborate on it. According to Wikipedia, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.4.14 says,

Meaning: Nothing is higher than dharma. The weak overcomes the stronger by dharma, as over a king. Truly that dharma is the Truth (Satya); Therefore, when a man speaks the Truth, they say, "He speaks the Dharma"; and if he speaks Dharma, they say, "He speaks the Truth!" For both are one.
-Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, 1.4.14

Now, to Dharma. This is the interpretation of Dharma as per Brihadaranyaka Upanishad. So, according to that, each of us has our personal truth or Dharma deep within our heart. It is all the lessons and experiences we have acquired over our thousands of lifetimes we may have gone through. Once we take up a body, this library of knowledge that we bring with us gets embedded in our subconscious mind as well as encoded in our DNA. This can be our own knowledge we have brought in as well as the ancestral and familial knowledge we got by virtue of taking birth in a particular family. Everything together.

So, now think of the amount of knowledge and wisdom each of us has, the repository of knowledge. Each of us is a walking encyclopedia. But my knowledge would be very different from yours. Yours very different from another. This is the subconscious knowledge we possess as a being. It has all the elements of the ancestral knowledge of our family, our parents, our culture, our geographical location, and above that the eons of knowledge we bring as a Soul who has lived lifetimes- our subconscious treasure.

The only way to access this is through intuition, dreams, deep contemplation, or meditation. Deep contemplation and meditation many times only yogis can do. Dreams come and go. We have no control over it. So, what remains? Our intuition. The only way as a normal human being we can access this knowledge.

Now, what do we, the ignorant beings do? We throw away our intuition, thinking, it is the illusion of the mind and think for ourselves and lead our life from our pure conscious mind, that is just 10%. The major 90% of knowledge gets discarded. So, our truth about who we are from our deepest core, with all this knowledge remains untouched as our hidden potential. We may never know it even until our death. Isn't that really sad?

The Dharma: So, now what should we do? We have to first find this Dharma, the knowledge or truth of 'Who am I?' That is our first step in our Dharma. Who am I? I never knew I could write. I had to find out-Who am I? What is my Swaroopa- Authentic Self, that encompasses all the knowledge I bring from many lifetimes? Who are you? You have to find out. We never fully realize it.

But every time we use our intuition and draw upon it, a slight piece gets revealed. Next time another piece. Another time another bit. Like this, we have to trust upon our intuition to reveal our own Swaroopa, bit by bit. But when we never use our intuition we are closing the door shut. Now, these revelations are my and your personal truth, our deep inner core values.

This foundation which we reveal for ourselves is our Dharma- our truth. Standing in this space, talking and living is very powerful. That is our personal truth-true Dharma. Here we have nothing to strive, to achieve, to pursue. The pursuance of becoming something falls away. We are not chasing anything anymore, The chase is over. Only the truth of 'Who you are' remains. Nothing to chase. But the being comes powerfully into the picture- 'I just am' or ' this is how it is.'

Wisdom, bubbles, water, Soul, mind, conscious, subconscious, intellect, Sun, light, knowledge, attitude, effort, analysis, deep, recess, Moon, ideas, thoughts, creativity, creation, Brahman, Universe, purpose, words, power, desires, intentions, resolutions, butterfly, stars, way, heart, follow, brilliance, boat, ocean, life, direction, map, radar, Survivin, cancer, protein, stress, chaos, peace, oak, acorn, wisdom, Anahata, heart, space, mind, clutter, peace, awareness, Maya, commitment, colors, creativity, mythology, myth, treasure chest, key, ancestors, DNA, Karma, terrorism, heaven
The freedom of personal truth (Dharma)!

Our personal truth or personal Dharma. We are free. We don't have to chase, hunt or quest. We just are relaxed and peaceful in the knowledge of our personal truth. Now from this space we can talk, act, and live. As we know who we are, our talk and actions become powerful and authentic. Our attitude becomes confident. We don't vie for another's attention or applause. If we get it, we are Thankful and grateful. But we never crave for it.

The search is over. We are free. The truth powerfully sits in our heart. Now, instead of searching under every rock, we can start living our truth and practicing our Dharma-a powerful and authentic place. Therefore, it is said, 'The truth shall set you free!'

Now, whether to find for oneself their Dharma or not, that is always one's free will and choice!

I wish you a good weekend and I'll see you next Friday!😉

Ralph Waldo Emerson writes, "There is a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance ; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself for better for worse as his portion that though the wide universe is full of good, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried".
