The energy of Plagiarism!

Hello all,

Namaste! Hope all of you had a great week where you were able to find your own inner treasure of wisdom within, without taking an iota out of another's cup. Last week we discussed the different forms of stealing that can occur. This informational robbery is called plagiarism.

People do it as hacks, scams, identity theft and plain robbery of ideas, thoughts and perceptions. Many times people are not even aware of their actions. Above this scenario, people have become distracted with the technical toys like computers, mobile phones, tablets, social media, news and informational deluge. We may have not realized it yet. But humanity is getting drowned in information. When we get drowned something, we lose the capability to realize what is important and what is not. Like a fish who doesn't realize it is inside the water. It is totally overtaken by it.

Let us step back a bit and see this scenario from another perspective. We take birth. We die. In between we get a few days here on Earth. Yes, just a few days, say like ninety years. Ninety years is not that long in a Soul's life. Ninety years = 90 years*365 days*24 hours*60 minutes*60 seconds=2,838,240,000 seconds. That is it. That is all we get. So many breaths. In that, we sleep 7-8 hours every day. We only get the remaining seconds to be awake in a waking life. Once we realize this, our Dharma should become to totally live a very authentic and genuine life.

Let us concentrate a minute on nature. Look outside. You may see a tree. It has roots that hold the tree in place. Trunk that carry nutrients around and leaves that capture Sunlight to produce flowers and fruits. The tree is doing its Dharma of being a tree. That is its Dharma. Being a tree. Now think, the tree is acting like a monkey. How it would be? The roots come out of the soil and it is jumping all over the place, climbing up on other trees and making a ruckus in the forest. Of course, it feels hilarious and funny. But soon the tree would fall to its death. Why? That is not what a tree is supposed to do. It is meant to be a tree.

The same with any animal. A deer should act like a deer. A cheetah like a cheetah and a lion like a lion. All of them do. It is only us humans who act very different compared to what we are meant to do. Yes, all of us humans look very alike. But each of us have come to this Earth plane to fulfill extremely different Dharma and Karma. It becomes our first duty to know who we are and what we are supposed to do. So, already we humans have no clue about this. We are complacent, non-aware and lazy to do our true work.

Now to this mixture (Aviyal in Malayalam) add the technological and informational deluge. It becomes to an already messy mind we are adding more thick, muddy chaos. The mind becomes even more chaotic and confused and move further away from one's Dharma. They are confused and muddled. To this mess add the perspective of a person engaged in the activity of plagiarism or stealing whether of trust, information, data or other material things. The person from the light and truth side of Dharma has moved far away into the realm of Adharma.

Adharma: In Vedic philosophy, there is a concept called Adharma. Adharma is the action that one takes that is very far away from their Dharma. Dharma is the true purpose or duty a being is supposed to do. Engaging in something far away from one's Dharma (Swadharma- Swa-one's own, Dharma-duty) becomes Adharma. It is very immoral in the eyes of the Brahman (Universal intelligence).

To elaborate, let us take an example. Think a person has been born with a beautiful voice and ability to sing. It becomes their Dharma to mold it, cultivate it and sing for themselves and others. Taking action towards improving the voice also becomes part of their Dharma. But many times Dharma may not be so narrow as well. A person who knows to sing can become a music teacher, music critic, composer or be in some field related to music.

But instead if they are in something for which they have absolutely no talent in, then the heart won't be in the activity anymore. The second the heart is removed from the picture, it becomes a joyless activity. This affects the person, his/her emotional make up as well as creativity. When they don't know how to capture their own life and talents, any thing starts to become okay. They move more and more into Adharma, far away from their own Dharma.

Meditation on our true nature!

Here another thing also comes into the picture. They are moving away from their true nature as well. Being a singer or doing something with music was their true nature. The true nature of being a musician. Now, they have left their true nature behind and is pursuing something else. Because they left their true nature, they have deceived themselves. This is the first deception in any situation. To deceive or take deceiving actions, first a being has to deceive themselves. Only after deceiving themselves can they deceive others.

This is how the energy of Adharma plays out. Now, the mind is building up layers upon layers over the truest nature. Each of these layers become their personas. The being has decided to hide their true nature. Now they are living a lie. They have lived their life so much far away from their true nature, it becomes difficult to bring out the true nature. They have woven a whole life with the personas as the central theme. As the heart was never in the picture, the person usually stays in a mediocre level in their life. This is the energy of a person who has moved away from their true Dharma. Now, let us look at stealing or plagiarism.

Stealing or Plagiarism: This also is very much Adharma. The person is doing something they are not supposed to do. Look at a thief or a robber. While they are stealing information from another person or an organization their own creativity and true nature gets stunted. They are never focused on themselves or their potential. That potential slowly starts to die off. But the talents that help them to steal from another starts to blossom. But here these actions won't be supported by the Brahman or the Universal intelligence. The same Brahman exists in the other person as well. By the act of stealing, the person or the Brahman within the person who is being stole from is disrespected.

Here another spiritual law comes into existence. 'What we focus on increases in our life'. By the mere focus the person is giving to stealing or plagiarism, it starts to increase in their life. They get chances to steal more. They get chances to deceive their heart more. They get chances to put even more personas over their true nature. All these personas embed their heart deep down under layers of junk and muck. They lose touch with their own heart and nature.

Rahu and his assembly!

Writing about this itself gives me the feeling of a rabbit hole, unending without an end. They keep on going down the rabbit hole of life. This is what many times make people confused, chaotic and muddled. Their mind and actions have taken them very far away from their own true nature. This also many times helps to lose interest in life and living itself. Their core or heart is nowhere in the life they have created for themselves.

This type of energy very much ties into the energy of the thief and deceiver who is famous in Hindu mythology. Rahu! Rahu. if doesn't have the graceful aspect of the Universal energy (Jupiter or Saturn) acts as a thief. Rahu also exists in the higher as well as lower vibration. Rahu behaves differently according to the awareness a being has. In the highest vibration Rahu is the healer who can heal people. But in the lower vibration, he is the thief who brings chaos and confusion.

Rahu- The thief: We have discussed the energy of Rahu before. Rahu was the head of the Asura, Swayambharu. He had great desire to get Amritha (celestial nectar) that brings immortality. But Vishnu, the Divine was only planning to give the nectar to the Devas and not to the Asuras. Of course, the question of why, does come up in my mind many times. It may be due to the fact Asuras may use the boon of immortality for very selfish reasons and not for the greatest good of the Universe. Hence, maybe they were kept away from the nectar.  Asuras have the lower natures of lust, greed, and egotism.

Any way, Vishnu disguised as the beautiful Goddess Mohini asked the Devas and Asuras to sit in two lines. While the Asuras were enthralled in her beauty, Mohini started to serve the Amritha only to the Devas. Swayambharu being very cunning and intelligent realized this deception. So, he went and sat in between Surya (Sun God) and Chandra (Moon God). They notified Mohini of this and Mohini using her disc cut the head of Swayambharu, which became Rahu.

This story reeks of cunningness, deception, greed, and an eye towards boon. So, the minute a person starts to steal or plagiarize, the energy of Rahu comes into being. The person also has moved away from Swadharma (one's true purpose). That second the connection to the inner divinity is lost. The lack of knowledge of Self brings the darkness of ignorance. This darkness brings chaos and confusion.

Energy of Plagiarism: Doesn't Rahu energy fit perfectly? A person is involved in plagiarism. Their inner true nature gets lost. Thier own creativity and aspirations gets stunted. Because there is no connection to the true nature, ignorance prevails. This ignorance brings chaos and confusion. Also, as the person has no connection to the inner nature, the grace of the divine is lost. The loss of that grace brings fear. Their mind becomes chaotic and confused. Above this the mind becomes fearful whether their stealing would be revealed.

In a University setting a Professor or Scientist can be fired from their position due to plagiarism. As honor is utmost for a Professor or Scientist, losing that becomes the biggest punishment. Students and the colleagues would treat them without respect. Same way if someone hacks into financial or military organizations, they are punished with prison time. That is how much plagiarism and stealing can create havoc in a society. Military and financial data are protected information. An unauthorized person or eyes can take that data and use it towards their selfish and greedy reasons.

We live in a very connected world (The realm of Rahu)!

As Rahu was sitting in between Surya (Sun) and Chandra (Moon), it can eclipse both these grahas (planets in very loose terms). In Jyothisha, Sun is the Atma-Soul, the divine within and Moon is the mind. How does Rahu eclipse? As the being is not focused on their true nature, the divine wisdom of the Soul is lost. The inner divine has become hidden or lost. Now, because the Moon is eclipsed, the connection of the mind to the inner wisdom is lost.

Basically the being is devoid of the true wisdom of their heart to lead their mind and life to their highest Self. So, they spend their life in a much lower vibration of awareness, the realm of pure materialism with no true spiritual nature. In this materialistic nature every emotion Rahu signifies takes a toll on the being as confusion, chaos, materialism, greed, egotistic nature, fear and rage. While anger is signified by Mars, rage is by Rahu.

Only when they realize this aspect and surrender to their higherSelf and stop the deed that brings their higherSelf down, the eclipse of the Sun and Moon, heart (Soul) and mind stops and the being starts to move towards the blessing of knowledge. That pure wisdom bring the grace of the Universal intelligence!

It is an unwritten Spiritual law, 'Only a being who helps themselves gets help from the Universe'! So, isn't it the Dharma of a being to help themselves to move towards knowledge? The second the being realizes this, their redemption towards a higher stature in life starts. But that is always the choice and free will of the being!

I wish you a good weekend and I'll see you next Friday!😉
