The grace of wisdom!

Namaste! I want to let my blog readers know about my new website-swaroopa.net. Very simple id, not the complicated blog id address. Now to the post.
Last week, we were discussing how Kethu embraces the deep wisdom within every person's life as well as in the Vedic astrology chart of a person. But many times Kethu himself can't realize this as the Graha (planet in loose terms) is represented by the headless body of the snake, headless -unaware. This wisdom sits within us as knowledge that we can use it. But most of the time we ourselves don't know that this knowledge is sitting within us. Now, let us move to some Biotechnology to elaborate it from the genes perspective. I have studied if for decades. Why not use it in my writing?
Genes: We are made first from the DNA strands our Mom and Dad contributed. It could mix and match in any which way it wants. But all of us except for people who have medical conditions are provided with a whole set of genes, 23 pairs, 22 somatic genes that take care of all other functions and a pair that takes care of reproductive functions. Total twenty-three pairs.
In these genes, each has sections called exons and introns that are made up of nucleotides. A nucleotide is a complex molecule consisting of a sugar, a phosphate group and a nitrogen base. There are four nucleotides- Adenine, Thymine, Guanine and Cytosine. The exons are the region that encodes the messages (messenger RNA) that later is used to make proteins that the body uses for a lot of stuff. The blood has the protein Hemoglobin. All the enzymes are proteins. The body is given its structure and shape by another protein, Collagen. The spinal cord is enclosed in a sheath made up of another protein called Myelin. So, a lot of proteins. All these proteins are made from the message that is decoded from the Exon. Of course there are numerous steps, proteins, and other chemical molecules involved. Not as simple as I write it.
Now, these exons become active to produce the message only if there are specific proteins or chemical molecules that bind to specific sites on the exons. According to the protein or molecule that gets bound, the type of message and consequently the type of protein that gets produced can differ. So, here the nature (the Universal Divine Master) has kept a control of what type of protein gets produced and what type of protein doesn't get produced. The study of this specific field of protein binding and how the genes gets expressed, or having a physical manifestation is called Epigenetics. A pretty cool field.
So, according to the family, how the DNA of mother and father got combined, the way in which proteins got combined to the exons, everything has a say in how we formed. What is our eye, hair and skin color? How tall are we going to be? What would be our emotional, mental and psychological abilities? How would we use it? All these are controlled by these specific internal controls that gets guided by our DNA and later proteins. So, Epigenetics.
Before,we mentioned Introns. These are really long 'intervening sequences' that come between the Exons. As of now scientists are only in the process of unraveling the puzzles of the Introns. Scientists do think they may be encoding non-functional proteins that are used in some random things in the body. The human body is a very complex structure and there are many things that scientist and medical professionals are still in the dark. Science is very much catching up. But then new doors to the mystery appears. The way of the Universe.
Kethu in the context of DNA: Now, why am I describing about exons, introns, Epigenetics and other Biotechnology details? This is a Spirituality/Vedic Philosophy blog. What is the point of describing such deep Bio technical details? Of course, there is a direction I am taking us towards.
My intuition just says this. Of course, it is definitely very theoretical or conceptual. I have no way to prove it. Say, for example, a person who after their own deep contemplation and thought process acquires knowledge and wisdom about themselves and their purpose in life- the true realm of Kethu. Now, the question. What if the meditation/deep contemplation kick-starts a different set of proteins that binds to the exons and produces a set of very different set of novel proteins that their body until then didn't produce? Or in another case what if the meditation and in being one with the Universal intelligence actually opens up the introns- the long pieces of the DNA that scientists think are not that useful to make truly functional proteins? Or even opens up novel parts of the exon that was not expressed or physically manifested until now?
Can't these DNA elements be actually the Kethu knowledge that is deeply embedded within ourselves that we brought with us from our ancestors, family lineages and all the experiences our own forefathers have gone through? But to open such specialized elements, novel proteins or molecules, the one precondition that is needed is the person should start listening to their intuition or have a deep spiritual practice? My question is what if the person before the spiritual/ meditation practice was like any other ordinary day human being.
But once they started their deep meditation or spiritual practice, the DNA that used to produce the proteins got shut down and a new set of DNA elements, until then dormant, not expressed could have woken up and new set of proteins started showing up. Or in another scenario along with the DNA elements that were functional a new set of proteins produced by a set of newly awakened DNA elements started functioning? There could be even changes happening in the DNA structure itself where old DNA patterns are being changed into new patterns. Who knows? Just my intuition.
Genius mind: Albert Einstein was considered a genius of a person in his times. His brain was taken out within 7.5 hours and analyzed thoroughly to understand what was different with the brain of Einstein's compared to others. The only thing researchers could find was the nerve fibers that connects the left and right hemispheres of the brain- corpus callosum was much thicker. Other than that they could not really find much difference.
Now, the question. What if the brain structure of Einstein was like any other person, but the way he used his brain, the proteins and the DNA making those proteins were very differently stimulated compared to lesser beings? What if long stretches of his introns got activated? What if very different proteins that activated the exons in a very different way were involved?
I have read somewhere Einstein's work on the General theory of relativity was the effect of consequent efforts he took to analyze a dream he had. So, from this itself we can realize above his own rational or logical mind, there were other faculties of intuition and dream realm involved. In the same way, the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung became extremely famous and one of a kind psychologist. He also used to analyze his dreams and started writing about it.
We have already discussed how Mahatma Gandhi had an epiphany at a train station in Durban, South Africa, which later led him to become a leader of the Indian freedom struggle. Martin Luther King as well as Mahatma Gandhi have talked about a life living an ideal that is greater than oneself. All these point towards the fact that, with a normal form of living humans never unlock our own deepest potential.
This deepest potential is locked down somewhere in our own DNA, until the person is ready for that mission or purpose to get activated. Mahatma Gandhi was a good lawyer until his forty-fourth year of age. Until then most probably his DNA or proteins could have functioned as any other person. Now this is not just the case of higher beings like Mahatma Gandhi or Einstein, but even with ordinary folks like us. When we are supposed to take a new path, either we would have a midlife crisis or the current way things are starts to fall apart.
Kethu: Until now, we were discussing the mind. There is another factor, which has always puzzled scientists. It has been known that the Tibetan monks who do deep meditation were able to generate heat through their body. They also found the meditation caused changes in the activity of the brain during meditation and there was lesser blood flow to the brain. The monks were able to sleep on an outside ledge in a very cold February winter night in the foothills of the Himalayas.
The funny part is the planet Kethu also rules monks, meditation, monasteries and isolation. It also rules the deep hidden knowledge and wisdom we carry in ourselves. So, if we put two and two together can it bring out five or even eight or twelve if we bring in meditation, deep contemplation or using our intuition? All of us having a genius of a mind. Why only one or two taste that fruit. Why not everyone? This is just my inkling or a theoretical hyper grasp. I have absolutely no clue, if it is possible.
But it is a truth, to have knowledge and wisdom above our own rational knowledge we need the help of Kethu. The rational, fact based knowledge and Science is the realm of Mercury, not Kethu. As we discussed before with the rational mind we can only go so much as it consists only 10-20%. Of course, it is a great asset to analyze huge amounts of knowledge and wisdom to the tiniest grain of truth. But the huge coffers of truth are not the realm of Mercury, but Kethu.
As long as we just use rational and fact based knowledge, the knowledge nowadays so popular by virtue of TV, news, social media and other media outlets, the door to Kethu remains closed. That door can be opened only by capturing the key to Kethu- meditation, prayers, deep contemplation or any spiritual methods. The spiritual realms in our chart is ruled by Kethu. Also, here I want to elaborate on the difference between facts and truths. Many times people confuse between facts and truths.
Fact is a truth only to a specified time, eon and space. For example, it was a fact, ladies used to wear elaborate dresses during the Victorian as well as Renaissance period. It is was a truth at that time. It is not correct in todays's modern age. The value of number one is one. This is a truth. The value would have been one in Renaissance, Victorian or modern period. Sometimes, people use facts as truths. That is not correct. A fact is a truth, only during that period. But a truth is always a truth- eternal and unchanging.
Grace of wisdom: So, finally the wisdom, Kethu can provide. This wisdom can only be acquired if the planet Kethu, headless snake body gets a head. That head couldn't be any other than our own head. We can always listen to others and live our life. The key for Kethu wisdom to open is only through our own intuition. Another's intuition can't open our Kethu and our own unique knowledge. They can only open their own wisdom.
But many times that wisdom won't work for our life. The key to our wisdom is within us. Our very own key- our intuition. Without realizing this we spend our whole life or half life listening to leaders, mentors, advisors, Professors and more. Yes, I also have done that. Until my 44/45th year I was always in search of a guide, mentor or a wise person. I even used to watch YouTube videos to find a 'Guru' for myself. The word Guru is Gu- The destroyer of Ru-ignorance.
What is the antonym of ignorance? Wisdom. When we ourselves have our wisdom embedded within our DNA and is signified as Kethu in our chart, why go insearch of another teacher or Guru? When we start to access our own intuition, we ourselves become our Guru. But now, another vice starts to poke it's head- self doubt. That is one of the biggest difficulties humans face- inner trust. To trust ourselves and have faith.
Now, this can be taken care of only if we have been blessed with deep grace. Otherwise people, circumstances, job details, pure life itself would come and interfere in our life, so that we won't get a second to meditate, contemplate or access our intuition. Otherwise we would be interested in so many activities, times slips through our fingers and we by the time realize would be at the golden ages of our life.
So, to really live from the highest ideals Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi lived, we need to be graced to become aware of our own wisdom, wired within our DNA, by virtue of our Kethu. Until then we would be sleeping infront of the deep truth of our own life and our Dharma- the deepest purpose!
Swami Vivekananda warned, "Uthtishthata! Jagrata! Prapyavaran Nibhodhata"! Wake up! Become aware! Don't stop until you reach your goal! What an apt way to end this blogpost!
