Spiritual power- Part 7!
Hello all,
Namaste! I want to let my blog readers know about my new website-swaroopa.net. Very simple id, not the complicated blog id address. Now to the post.
Last few weeks, we had been discussing numerous kinds of spiritual powers waiting for us in case, we are ready to lead a path of our own Dharma. What is Dharma?According to Wikipedia, "In Hinduism, dharma signifies behaviors that are considered to be in accord with แนta, the order that makes life and universe possible, and includes duties, rights, laws, conduct, virtues and "right way of living". This is totally true. But this definition I feel is according to the society we live in. Now, let us expand on it.
Dharma: In my mind, this concept expands more like this. Each of us have come to this Earth realm with our own set of unique talents, passions, interests, our own family, DNA, ancestors, mind and faculties. Among these lies our heart, the inner most core. Here each of us has a truth, a deepest desire being kept hidden. This desire is unique to each single one of us. Mine is not the same as yours. Yours is not definitely the same as another.
But whether to pursue this desire or not is fully our free will and choice. No one is pushing us. Actually nobody, not even the Universe. Only once a while a small voice or intuition prods about this desire sitting within us. We can even take it a notch up and say this is a 'sacred contract' (as Caroline Myss says) we have made with our higher Self, our ancestors and the Universe itself. But whether to pursue this path or not is our choice and free will.
The only thing that pokes us is a random thought, a feeling or a soft inner voice, reminding us once a while of our purpose for this life. The essence or Soul took birth for that purpose. Instead of doing that we end up doing everything else. Nobody said we should not do anything else. But the truth is when we start standing in our truth and living our Dharma, the other things also takes a higher dimension and elegance. Life itself is pushed to a higher ideal and a higher perspective.
Once we decide to take this path, every talent, every passion, every gift, every knowledge we have starts to get used. But the use may not be as we envisioned. That is decided by our higher Self, ancestors and spiritual guides. For example, I studied, biotechnology as my educational background. My plan was to join a biotech company. But that was not the plan of my higher Self. It's plan was to lead me to the path of guiding/ mentoring and when a question about science related to bioethics comes about on Quora or on another place in my physical life, I am supposed to answer that query. Bioethics itself comes in the folds of Dharma- morality, higher truths and values.
Another aspect of the Dharma path. You are only shown 1-2 steps. No more. So, the person themselves has no clue how the path would develop. There is no use trying to find out. That is closed for the person. The feature of this path is, one's free will and choice is very tightly tied to the path. We, the person would be shown a step. Are you going to take it or not? The door is being shown. Only when you decide to open that door, the things behind that door would come into your perspective.
Constant expansion: Something else. Don't think there is only 1-2 doors and you choose one of them. Instead think like this, you are in a big huge very comfortable hall. You have your full light, a huge cozy sofa, your comfort food, refreshing drink, comfy pillows, the TV, music system and even a huge attached garden with water falls. This is your heart space. You own inner happy, comfortable, calm place.
Now, this hall is surrounded by many doors. One door opens to your blog. Another door open to your Quora answers. Next one to your entrepreneurship. Another one to your family. Next one to your friends/ acquaintances. Even another to your own self-care, self-study and contemplation. Each one of them becomes your Dharma. Actually as you keep on walking through this path, doors which were not even present the first time may be added later.
For example, when I started my blog, I had zero clue that in another year, I would be writing on Quora. It popped up in my Google feed the exact day/time I was supposed to come across it. (Don't think I am bragging. I am just using my experience to draw the picture of how the path of Dharma works. You can write more from a first hand experience, isn't it?) Same way as of now I am being shown a door to my entrepreneurship. What is behind the door would be revealed once I have taken that step. Not before that.
So, the path of Dharma is constant expansion. Any time you have doubt about your Dharma path, stop and contemplate. Is the energy of my path expanding or contracting? Any time you feel it is contracting, it is not the path of your Dharma or somehow you have fallen off the path of Dharma. Look at leaders who are top in their fields. They don't just do one thing.
Look at a top performer. They would have concerts where they make the people happy with their talents. They would have book deals. They would become brand ambassadors. They would start charity foundations. They would be called to give speeches, convocations, other engagements with schools, Universities. They would collaborate with other performers, do movies, become face of governmental campaigns. The path of constant expansion. They would be asked to wear many hats.
But any time, they want to take a break, they can always comeback to the 'hall/home of their heart', rest, chill out, bring up the energy and then again go out through one of the doors to deal with their loved ones and others in their life. This happy space is not reserved for just the top people in their field. Every single one of us have this hall. We are born with it. We have a right to find it. Here is where we coexist with our higher Self.
Higher Self: We are not born as our higher Self. Yes, we have the potential to embrace the qualities of the higher Self. But as a being our attitudes and behaviors are way below the highest potential we can embrace. The higher Self also may have lessons and experiences to learn. It is just an essence. It needs limbs, sense-organs and physical body to do actions. It asks the help of the human it encompasses. But the human also comes with a mind. Now we, the human pursue what the mind says and leave behind every thing concerning our Dharma.
It is in the heart, the 'why' for our life is wired. As long as we just go behind our mind, we move very far away from the why or the purpose for our life. Just look at the world. How many people are leading the life of a very mechanical person? The meaning for the life gets lost when we just go behind our mind. Instead we should follow the heart with the help of the mind. If we don't follow our heart, our path many times become difficult and we would have to keep on traversing huge obstacles or stagnation of life. This is because the purpose the Soul came into this life is not getting fulfilled.
The path of Dharma is the path of least resistance and best outcomes. But here also we may have to traverse challenges and hurdles. But this is usually to make the person strong from within. Not to bring them down. It is also the path of true joy and fulfillment. The most creativity happens from the heart space. The logical mind does the critical analysis. But the true creativity comes from the emotions. The emotions when strengthened by the purpose of the heart create wonders, which the logical mind can help to bring out through the critical thought process.
For example, in the case of a blog, the why comes from the heart. Why should I write a blog? To share some spiritual concepts and help a few Souls. Now, the concepts comes through the emotional mind, which the logical mind helps to write as a rational, sensible narration. So, the why, the heart, the emotional and logical mind, all should work in tandem. Same way everyone has a deep 'Why' wired in their core. It becomes the duty of the individual to find it and fulfill it. It is in this path, the highest self-actualization rests.
Many times, nobody else can help with this path. The only guidance would be our intuition. There would be no other outward flags or sign posts. Only an idea. It becomes the prerogative of the person whether to take that step or not. So, in this path, the question comes up, again, and again and again. "Are you courageous enough to take the step"? Do you think you have the inner grit to take it and mettle to keep at it? That question would be asked again and again. As long as we take this path another faculty keeps quiet.
Conscience: This is another inner system that is wired within us. Conscience. This is an inner value system that keeps us aligned with our inner truth. Remember, the path of Dharma is the path of our inner truth. So, the truth is very important. This truth always aligns with ' Who we are'. The deepest truth wired within us, of who we are. Any time we move far away from this and follow a wrong path, this system starts to blare an alarm, "You are going off track. You are going off track".
This again is an alarm system to keep us solidly in our path. But in our rush to 'make a life and become something' many times we throw the morals and values in the wind and go behind what we want. We can see many, many examples in the society. Most probably with every one going on the wrong path, first once or twice, the conscience would have rebuked. But the person would not have listened. Once they are moving farther and farther away from their Dharma. the conscience becomes mute. It realizes the person is not going to listen any more.
But any time, the person starts to realize their own mistakes and fully own up to it themselves, the conscience again starts to help. The best way to keep the conscience fully happy is to be very honest to ourselves, follow our path deeply and stand powerfully in our truth. I can totally say, nothing comes close to that inner power. I understand the difference between how I used to feel when was in biotech and how I feel now. With biotechnology, I was always happy. But I also always had stress, whether things would work out or not. Stance from the mind.
Here, in this career, the joyfulness and the inner power I feel are very different. It was not that biotech was any less. But that was not fully my truth. My truth was above biotech, I also had spiritual gifts and philosophical notions. Just following biotech, I was living half truth. That is not good enough for one's Soul. One should be powerfully aligned with all of one's truth. The power of the inner truth. It is not an illusion.
One starts to feel that power of being aligned with one's own deepest truths. Our words start to ring that truth. Now, it becomes our responsibility to use our words carefully, because as we are living our truth, our words start to become true. That is the power of aligning with our own inner truth, Soul and the Universe. The true might of the inner spiritual power. Ask any one who is living their deep truths. They would say that is correct.
Remember, the Bible starts with (John 1:1), "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." This is not just a statement. It becomes the truth. Any one who is living deeply from their truth, their words start to ring the truth, the truth that is aligned with the Universal truth. So, it is not because they are saints and sages, wise people are able to say powerful words. It is because they are living deeply from their truth, the inner truth that very much aligns with the greater truth of the Universe.
Is this only reserved for saints and sages? No. Every single human has the ability to access this inner spiritual power. But the condition is, they should be ready to live deeply from their truth. Not 20% or 80%, but the total cent percent. Then their words start to glow with the power of their inner truth. A very powerful strong position. No, nobody is pushing anybody. It is totally a free will and choice option. But it is only in the path of Dharma, the Universe aligns powerfully behind the being. Leaving with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson-
The decision being, to walk the path of Dharma. Our own unique path of Dharma that hold all the inner power for us is always waiting patiently for us. We only have to make the decision to walk towards it and promise ourselves to do it.
I wish you a good and safe weekend and I'll see you next Friday! ๐
