The power of the intention- Part 2!

Hello all,

Namaste! All of you, my dear blog readers, know about my website-swaroopa.net. I have started my business, Swaroopa store, which can be accessed from Shop tab on my website, for Souls who are interested in a personal reading. There is also the Swaroopa Store link, on my blog. Now to the post.

This week, my plan was to dissect another topic called identity. But then, my intuition guided, no, you haven't fully discussed the topic of intention. Remember, what all, you are missing out and need to explain more. So, I guess, I would take a stab at it.

Last week, we discussed, how Abraham Lincoln was slowly but surely pushed by his deepest intention, which his emotional mind deeply felt during a trip to the slave-trade ridden American South in early 1800s. But the deepest intentions to work, there are some other criteria that need to be taken into consideration. Today, we are going to look into it.

Inner truths: In this blog, we always discuss about our own deep personal inner truths. The inner truths are the deepest truths that are wired in the core of the being, the truths and desires associated with it. As we are born into a family, culture and society, these truths get masked. All of us are born into a particular family, which already has familial and behavior patterns. This DNA pattern is transferred to us in the womb, itself. If a great-grandfather had a gambling problem, sure, we may feel like trying our hand at it. If we had a great aunt who loved to gossip, become aware, when we slowly gravitate towards the office water fountain or extend our hand towards the phone to call a friend. All these ancestors live through us and are very much with us.

But in these patterns and ancestral knowledge, there would be aspects that are also the greatest gifts, that are bestowed upon us. For example, I deeply know, the spiritual gifts, I am using nowadays, are the gifts of my ancestors. Of course, may be I myself as a Soul could have acquired a lot of knowledge in other lifetimes. But beyond that, the ancestors in my family could have granted me these blessings. So, while trying to discard the vices, from our family that ensnare us, we also should develop the intellect to deeply embrace the gifts from the ancestors.

To do this, we have to be deeply aware of ourselves. Let us take the example of Abraham Lincoln, himself. His family were agrarians (farmers) who used to clear forests and build houses to settle towns and villages. But among them, Lincoln was deeply interested in studying, reading, writing, contemplation and poetry. He was considered lazy, as he was more interested in reading a book than splitting rails- long timber logs used to make fences. This was back breaking work, which his whole family used to do-hard farm labor. But because his whole family was into something else, he never threw away his passion for reading and books. Thomas Lincoln, his father was upset that he didn't give up on his reading and help his father, to make the family more prosperous. Abraham Lincoln also was deeply interested in people more, above and beyond his own family.

If he had given up on his love for books and love for people, he would have never come into politics or become a President. Politics was something, he was deeply interested in and enabled him to interact with a lot of people. A person who deeply loved humanity and being human. Here, even though his whole family were working with their hands on soil, he decided to work with his mind on the people. He didn't allow the strong influence of his dad, Thomas Lincoln to diminish his authentic truth as a lover of books and people. He had to stand up for his passions and truths.

Remember, this was his path of Dharma-inner truth. In this path, the person would be tested again and again- Do you value yourself? Do you consider yourself worthy of your path? When someone's interests and values don't align with your own, do you have the mettle to push on? Do you want everyone's approval and recognition to do another day of work at your Dharma/purpose/ duty?

So, what I am trying to portray is, it is not enough to have the intention. That would fall flat on the face. But the person along with the intentions, should have the inner grit, mettle and will power to go at it, one second, one hour, one day and one year. Abraham Lincoln had that inner grit- to keep on going. Think about his inner mettle, to single-handedly study law books and pass the bar exams. Nowadays, even being in law school and having fantastic teachers, many are not able to pass law. That is how much one has to study. Deep conviction and self-trust to keep on going, upholding one's own truths.

Time and patience: This is another big thing, in this realm. Yes, we may have our inner truths, intention and even the will power. But then nothing, not a thing happens. We, the being, keeps on at it, chucking one small piece of our Dharma at a time. Ask me about it. I know this concept, very well. I waited some twenty to twenty five years to have a good career. The only thing that kept me going through 1996 to 2016 was the inner hope that, one day my career would magically appear before me. Actually it didn't magically appear. I was only given an idea as an epiphany, "Have you ever considered your spiritual gifts?" It was up to me, whether to do something about it or not.

Okay, this post is not about me, but about Abraham Lincoln and his intentions. Even though Abraham Lincoln tried his hand at serving as a representative of the people many times, he lost. In 1838, he was defeated for speaker-ship of Illinois House. Later in 1843, he was defeated for nomination to US Congress and in 1848, lost re-nomination. In 1854, defeated for US Senate and in 1856, defeated for nomination for Vice-President and again defeated for nomination to Senate in 1858. But finally in 1860, with all these defeats behind him, he became the President, the highest office of the land, above everything.😊 What a majestic win, isn't it??

From this, the next point comes into focus. Yes, the human may chart out his/her plan very elaborately. (Come on, my plan was to be in a very good Biotech position by 25/26 years of age. Hahaha!) But nothing is going to pan out. Sometimes our life would become so slow, snails would have a faster pace. The days in 2013 to 2016 used to drag along unending for me, with no respite of a career anywhere within my vicinity. Days used to drag. In the case of Abraham Lincoln, it took seventeen years, from the first defeat in 1843 to reach the post of the President at 1860.

Alignment of human and Divine timing!

Here also the same bunch of questions, poke their head. Do you believe in yourself? Do you have faith in your inner truth? If time elapses, would you go for something else or would you hold on tight to your desires and aspirations? Abraham Lincoln kept at it, trying again and again and again. The inner mettle and strength of someone who was deeply aligned to his truth. He knew himself, inside and out- what are his deepest desires and intentions. He was not ready to let it go and doubt himself. Yes, self-doubts, can creep up, big time. All of us are mere humans-a bag of blood and bones.

So, in cases where a higher purpose or even our own Dharma is involved, nothing is a given. We can put in our very best efforts towards our very best potential with our deepest heart. Whether the efforts would fructify or not is not at all in our hands. Abraham Lincoln would put in his deepest effort and heart into all the work, he did. Above that, it was up to a Divine plan and timing. Many times, the human has some idea and plan, how it would work out. But most of the times, we ourselves have no clue whether it could happen or not.

So, it took sixteen to seventeen years for Lincoln's plan to help people and the divine plan to become aligned and work out. This is the same with many entrepreneurs or creative personalities. They start a project or endeavor with faith and trust in themselves. But time, money, effort and years start to roll out, but no results. Their faith and passions are trusted again and again. How much do you want it? Do you trust yourself? Are you up to it? Do you have the leap of faith? The company Amazon, which we all now applaud, took fourteen years to make it's first profit. Fourteen years! The inner mettle of the founder is tested time and again. Only people who have deep Self-trust and might could tolerate this kind of inner test.

Every thing that has to appear in our reality, unfolds according to a Divine plan. As along as that time and space does not roll in, things are just at a stand still, truly no energy shift. The person is kept in a limbo, upside down as if hanging from a tree, legs tied. A very different upside down perspective, to understand, the tenet- As above, so below. In another way, as above-as our higher Self (higher perspective)  decides, so below, things unfold in our reality. This is the image representing the tarot called 'Hanged Man'. Looking at a situation from a very upside down point of view.

Mind and heart aligned:  This is another important point, that needs to be kept in mind. We have discussed in many blog posts about the mind. The mind can become a become obstruction, if it is not aligned with the heart. The mind is divisive. Us versus them. Dark versus light. Fear versus courage. Believers versus infidels. Alien versus our own. Yes, in case of a country, borders have to be maintained. But that also can be maintained by being respectful than treating humans like objects and putting them in cages. Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot already have objectified people. Do we need to revisit that again?

Mind has this way of dividing everything. But Abraham Lincoln was able to see the same human in the slave who was being traded off at a Louisiana, New Orleans market place. He could feel how humanity was being brought down to it's knees by it's own kind. Humans can be very cruel when they operate from the mind. We feel like always trying to fix something. What is there to fix? Yes, one thing. Our own mind. If every one makes their own mind and life, the very best, they can be, what is there to fix?

There is another concept underneath this. Mind always tries to contract, dividing, compartmentalizing and making everything orderly. Great for creativity and imagination, where they can be very illusory and fleeting. For example the concepts and ideas, I have in my head gets a structure, form and grounding through a blog. Once you understand your deepest heart, mind is great to rationalize and bring the idea into real life. But in case of humanity and human values, before the mind, the heart should come into the picture.

Heart is the core or the metaphorical seat of the higher Self. Here, is where the Soul resides. From this space, every human, every bird, every tree and every rock is just a different expression of the same Universal energy, Brahman. If we can accept our own kind, why can't we accept another who speaks a different language, dress differently, has a different culture, different language or different anything. But even here, we can accept only such a person who shows us respect and gives us value. Not someone who is trying to lynch us, burn us on a stake, torching our businesses or in the most worst case scenario axing us to pieces inside a foreign embassy, where we went to get a visa.

Where is the humanity here? In such a case, it is never enough to fix the outside scenario. The thing that needs to be fixed is the inside, the mind that is seeing the world as divided. With the same mouth that speaks of Star dust and how all of us are formed from that, how can we see division, on the outer paraphernalia we wear- whether religion, culture, party, language, ethnicity, skin color or how we look? This is the difference between living from the heart and the mind. The heart unites-all included. The people who are not as of now aligned with us, we understand are operating from the mind and need time to find their heart. But mind is divisive, it divides anything and everything.

The last 2000 years, we have been fighting. Still fighting. What are we fighting about? If the mind could not fix, in the last 2000 years, can it fix for the next 2000 years? So, shouldn't we make the heart the Master and the mind, the servant? The proper way to really live. So, to intention to really work, we cannot live from the mind. Mind has to be deeply rooted in the heart. The map for our life, is not with the mind, but with the heart. Mind can only follow.

Original thoughts, ideas and imagination for humanity and human progress is not in the mind, but in the heart. Every heart. It is that heart, each being is deciding to discard. Is there any wonder, then humans are lacking in creative genius and spark. That spark is in the heart-divine spark of creation. But a human is choosing to live from the mind. The deep connection to the heart and Soul gets severed. Now, the person is map less, GPS less and radar less-a boat that has no steering, rudder or anchor, just floating in the sea of life. Now, we can understand, why so many are lost in their life.

Abraham Lincoln was deeply aware of himself, his heart, his passions as well as his mind. In Indian classical dance, Natyashastra there is a quote -

“Yatho Hasta thatho Drishti, Yatho Drishti thatho Manah
Yatho Manah thatho Bhaava, Yatho Bhaava thatho Rasa”

Meaning: Wherever the hand, there should be the aspect, wherever the aspect, there should be the mind, where ever the mind there should be the expression and wherever the expressions, there should be the emotions.

Why don't we take the same concept and put it into our subject of this blog post? For truly our intentions to work and the Universe to listen, we should, live in this way-

Wisdom, bubbles, water, Soul, mind, conscious, subconscious, intellect, Sun, light, knowledge, attitude, effort, analysis, deep, recess, Moon, ideas, thoughts, creativity, creation, Brahman, Universe, purpose, words, power, desires, intentions, resolutions, butterfly, stars, way, heart, follow, brilliance, boat, ocean, life, direction, map, radar, Survivin, cancer, protein, stress, chaos, peace, oak, acorn, wisdom, Anahata, heart, space, mind, clutter, peace, awareness, Maya, commitment, colors, creativity, mythology, myth, treasure chest, key, ancestors, DNA, Karma, terrorism, heaven, Ice-cream, internet, social-media
Being one with our inner truth, heart and mind aligned!

Wherever our deepest (Dharma/Purpose) desires from the Soul, there should be our heart. Wherever our heart, there should be our passions. Wherever our passions, there should be our emotions. Wherever our emotions, there should be our mind. Wherever our mind, there should be our intentions.

Why don't we try to live from such a space within our own life, where our all inner faculties are aligned to a one pointed sharpness of purpose, which brings out laser focused intentions? Such a person living their life is even respected by the Universe. Yes, even by the Universe. Deeply grounded in their inner truths and Dharma. That is the difference between the life, which the Divine has imagined for us and what as humans we are leading. When we start to live in such a fashion, even the tallest mountain that was blocking our way gets shattered.

From this we can understand, why where many others toppled, Abraham Lincoln who was born into dire poverty was able to capture the highest office of the land. Strength of his passions from the heart, aligned with his emotions, mind and intentions! Can all of us live in such a way in our life? That makes all the difference whether we are successful in such a way as Abraham Lincoln who was able to capture the fame and honor, like the Sun shining at midnight! Again, the correct way to live-

Wherever our deepest (Dharma/Purpose) desires from the Soul, there should be our heart. Wherever our heart, there should be our passions. Wherever our passions, there should be our emotions. Wherever our emotions, there should be our mind. Wherever our mind, there should be our intentions.

I wish you a good and safe weekend, and I'll see you next Friday!😉
